Eosinophilic esophagitis (EEo, EoE) is a chronic disease that affects the esophagus and prevents swallowing food normally, causing dysphagia, the most common symptoms are vomiting and pain in the chest or abdominal.

Without treatment, the clinic progressively worsens and as the disease worsens, the esophagus loses it becomes rigid and loses its normal functioning, if this phase is reached, recovery becomes impossible.

The target of this study is to demonstrate the effectiveness of a new treatment to keep the disease inactive both from the clinical point of view and from the lesions of the esophagus

We want to raise the money necessary for this investigation to take place.

The Spanish Eosinophilic Esophagitis Association (AEDESEO) was founded in 2012 as the first group in Spain and Europe dedicated to promoting diagnosis and helping people with EoE.

We work day by day for patients and to establish relationships with other entities, organizations and medical professionals promoting the investigation of Eosinophilic Esophagitis and disseminating the aspects related.

Who benefits this project?

The latest studies carried out in Spain have shown that at least 1 in every 1000 people suffer from EoE.

This means that in Spain there are approximately 45,000 people with the disease, although many have not been diagnosed yet.

In addition, it must be taken into account that every year 7.7 new cases appear for every 100,000 inhabitants, which means 3,000 new cases each year that are added to the total number of patients. A large part of the patients are children.
